A Year in Review and Goals for 2017

2016 is finally over. What a ride! The year has been filled with lots of adventures, and I feel like I've learned a lot. I made the transition from elementary to high school, meeting lots of great new people. Musically, this year was amazing. I've entered and done well in quite a few songwriting competitions and wrote with many amazing writers. I visited one of the music cities, New York. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to hopefully go back this year. I participated in the SAC songwriting challenge, and did SongStudio. Don't even get me started on SongStudio, it was so amazing. I've written and recorded with Murray Daigle, Bobby John and started a super cool project with them, which you guys will find out about soon enough. I did some amazing shows with great people, like LivLoveLyrics and the Dollhouse Showcase. I put all my singles on a CD and now have a mini EP, which is super cool. I've done a few radio interviews! Last but not least, I signed with the independant label, TableTop Records, which has opened a lot of doors. We will be doing great stuff in 2017, and I can't wait. Also loving my work with North Easton and Rosanne Baker-Thornley, Johny Simmen and Maddy Rodriguez. I feel blessed.

I feel like 2016 has really been a growing year for me. I met lots of people, and started setting the foundation for an amazing year coming up. I am so happy and thankful that I have people supporting me, and it's only going up from here, I can assure you of that.

This year, I want to increase my YouTube following. I did lot's of YouTube in 2015, and I'm ready to get back to that.

I want to write with as many people as I can, learning as I go.

I want to start focusing on my social media accounts as a whole.

I want to start a possible EP or album.

I want to play as many shows as possible, because every show is a learning experience.

Most of all, I want to learn and grow through the songs I write, shows I play and people I meet so I can be a better and more successful artist.

Thank you to everyone who is along for the ride, and I hope you all have a great year. You'll be hearing lots from me coming up. This is only the beginning :) xoxo,

Mikalyn
