S.A.C Songwriting Challenge Week 2

Hey everyone! I'm going to jump right into it.

It's been a pretty week. On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Rosanne and North again to co-write another song (You could say I'm one of the lucky ones) (not everyone will get that, but Rosanne and North will!) . I'm super excited about it, as it contrasts a lot of my other written work. I can't wait for you guys to (hopefully) hear it!! This week is also the week leading up to SongStudio, which I'll blog about every day, so make sure you check it out. The first entry on that should be going up tonight (Saturday.)

This weeks challenge was fun for me. In my songs, I like to be vague, so that the listener can paint their own picture on what they think the songs about. I haven't really wrote lots of story songs before. On Monday, I came up with the chorus and left it at that. The story came later that night while I was in bed, and by Tuesday morning I had started to put chords and a melody to the verses. At first, the song only had 2 verses, but on Friday I decided the song needed somewhat of an ending to the story, because the character development changes throughout the song. (ex: Chorus 1 is "We both know this isn't going anywhere, anyway" vs Chorus 3 is "We both know this could be going anywhere any day."

This week was very fun and I can't wait to see what next week brings. As well i am pretty excited to be going to listen to the SAC Week 2 Challenger tonite in person - I think they are going to play for us at the Song Studio 2016 Faculty Concert tonite :) I am very lucky!!
