Olympians and Musicians - lots of similarities

Hey everyone !! Happy olympics season :) I’m obviously cheering for team Canada, because the Winter Olympics is our chance to shine. As I watch these athletes, I can’t help but be inspired by them. Athletes, like musicians, work tirelessly to reach their end goal. The sports industries are also hard to navigate, filled with talent, and very cut throat. At home, we watch the best of the best compete and wonder: how can we as musicians get to the Olympic level? There is no time for us to beat, and the only race we run is an endless marathon. That’s why I think musicians need to have heart. Just like a professional athlete, it’s not easy to make it to the big leagues, but the journey up is what helps us grow, learn, and most importantly teach us to all enjoy the ride.
